Sichuan Kunwei Extrusion is a manufacturer specialising in co-rotating twin-screw extruders, with a production capacity of more than 150 extruders a year. Its focus is high-torque twin-screw extrusion that raises customers’ throughput and product quality.

Technology

Key capabilities

Torque

Specific torque up to 16 Nm/cm³ in the KTS M+ series; symmetric twin-path gear transmission gives high efficiency and 72,000 h service life. High torque lets suitable recipes run at lower speed with high feed rates.

Energy

Drive efficiency, screw geometry, feeding capacity and temperature control are addressed together to reduce kWh/kg per unit of output.

Biopolymers

TPS, PLA, PBAT, PBS/PBSA, PHA and starch-based blends; screw configuration, vacuum devolatilization and pelletizing options matched to the recipe.

Barrel

Bimetallic-lined or laser-clad barrels; uniform cooling through spiral water channels, removable plugs.

Screw

KT18 steel shafts (more than twice the rated safety value) and a full range of powder-metallurgy screw elements.

Control

EtherCAT communication (< 1 ms), frequency converter model matching, automatic shutdown on torque anomaly; self-learning temperature control.

Series and systems

KTS — high performance

Do/Di 1.55, 14 Nm/cm³ specific torque, up to 1,200 rpm. Ø 27 – 175 mm.

KTD — high free volume

Deep flight, Do/Di 1.68. Higher throughput at the same diameter, lower melt temperature.

KTS HME — pharmaceutical

Excellent API dispersion, precise temperature control, easy cleaning. KTS 8 – 20.

ECO — economy series

9 Nm/cm³, Ø 35 – 96 mm; twin-screw plus single-screw (T+S) cascade line option.

Turnkey compounding plant

Consultancy, process design, installation, commissioning and training; feeding, dosing, pelletizing and packaging included.

Force-feeding side feeder

For low-bulk-density powders such as talc, MCA, Mg(OH)₂, Al(OH)₃, carbon black and mica.
